Salt is as essential as water. We could not survive without water or salt. All the properties of salt that relate to our body are closely connected to water, because the crucial properties of salt, biochemically as well as biophysically, only exist in combination with water, and remember, we are mostly water – 70%!

This is very special salt. This pink Himalayan Crystal Salt is hand-mined 5,000 feet under the earth from deposits of salt that are 250 million years old. The salt was crystallized over the millennia due to the immense pressure. This crystallization captured the energy needed to dehydrate the primordial sea and it is this measurable energy that is released from the salt when it is dissolved in water. The same way we know there is energy inherent in Quartz crystals, there is energy in this pressurized crystal salt. This energy frequency matches the frequency in our healthy body, so it helps to “re-tune” and energize if the frequency is deficient.

The mixture of water and crystal salt, called “Solé” (so-lay) is the most flexible physical representation of pure solar and light energy. The word solé, is derived from the Latin word “sol”, which means sun. Solé is nothing but the fluid materialization of sunlight. Solé means fluid sunlight or fluid light energy. In water, the salt crystals release 84 minerals which are in almost the exact ratio as the 84 minerals in our bodies since we supposedly came from this ancient primordial sea. The minerals are also in their ionized form, which is the form our bodies recognize and can use, much as the ionized minerals in foods and ionized water. In addition, this salt is qualitatively different than other sea salt, even pink sea salt, which is gathered at or near the earth’s surface and is not “crystalline” in structure. While these salts do have extraordinary mineral content, it does not always match our bodies’ profile, nor are these minerals in ionized form which means they are too coarse for absorption.

To use, you put the Himalayan Crystal Salt “rocks” in a small glass jar or cup and cover it with good quality water* (see note at end). If the rock does not totally dissolve, then you have the 26% solé solution, meaning the water cannot hold any more salt. This solé is anti-bacterial, so you do not need to keep it in the refrigerator, and it will not go bad. Use one teaspoon (not a metal spoon – use wood, porcelain or glass) first thing in the morning followed by at least 16 ounces of water to jump-start your day and “tune” your frequency. This solé, salt water brine, is unquestionably the energy matrix in which life begins, develops and subsists. Remember, our tears, blood and lymph are all salty!

As you use up the water, simply re-fill your jar and the rock will give up more of its salt to the solution. Replace the rock when all that’s left are pinkish specs, which are minerals that are too coarse to be of use. BEWARE there are many brands of “pink salt” being sold as Himalayan Crystal Salt, but not all are – some are just “pink” salt from other places, some are actually “rock salt” from near the surface or from inferior mines. The salt we sell is certified to be the exact salt that has been extensively researched and documented to contain these life giving properties.

The human body needs only as little as .2g of salt per day. Rather, we tend to use too much salt than too little. As opposed to refined table salt, you can use Himalayan crystal salt more freely because of its holistic properties which make it easy for the body to assimilate. With the recommended one teaspoon of Himalayan crystal salt solé every morning, you are not only receiving the biophysical aspect of the salt, which is the frequency pattern of the crystal salt, but also the biochemical aspect of the salt, containing sufficient minerals and trace elements. The body will hold the frequency pattern of the crystal salt solé for 24 hours. Therefore, we only take the solé once per day on an empty stomach. Plus, the solé can neutralize your body’s acid alkaline balance, normalize blood pressure and dissolve toxins. Patients on Dialysis, or with high blood pressure, should generally use very little salt and follow the advice of their doctor.

People actually go down into these mines for the benefits of absorbing the unique energy, and ailments are cured. Different grinds of salt are available: rock crystals, pebbles or fine table salt, as well as bath crystals and salt inhalers for lung issues. For more information please call me, Tina Rappaport 304-655-0003 as this portion of the website is still under construction.

*The best water to use for Solé is high pH ionized water (from a water ionizer), next best would be filtered tap water, then good quality bottled water such as Fiji, Zephyrhills, Whole Foods 365, Deer Park or supermarket “Spring” water. Do NOT use Dannon Spring water, Poland Springs, Smart Water, Vitamin Water, Dasani or Aquafina – these are acidic waters and detrimental to your health. Click here to get your free comprehensive and convenient Bottled Water pH Pocket Chart.

One last comment. It has been found to help the electrical frequencies open up when using a Rife machine, as the frequency generator, also known as a Rife machine, matches the frequencies of diseased cells and pathogens to cause them to implode. As we know we are an electrical body, running on water and salt, so it is good to use some salt (Himalayan Crystal Salt, of course) before a Rife treatment, and, certainly to drink lots of water before and after this detoxifying treatment.

I’ve been getting this question more often lately, and I thought I’d address it here, publicly. Both types of plates are a titanium base coated with platinum. A lesser quality plate is merely sprayed with platinum, and I won’t address those here. Let’s talk about the water ionizer electrode plates that are coated with platinum, not sprayed, because these are in the ionizer brands I carry.

The water ionizers I carry have both types of plates. The Aquifer, Affinity and Odyssey are made by Yi-Shan in Taiwan and all have large, solid titanium electrode plates coated with platinum. Yi-Shan has been making water ionizers for over 30 years, and due to the extreme durability of these “heavy duty” electrode plates, we are seeing life spans of 15-20 years with these machines, above the more usual 10-15 year life span.

Mesh electrode plates are rather new to the market. A titanium plate is stamped to create the mesh, with dips and valleys then coated with platinum. The platinum layer is thinner, making it possibly less durable and less expensive to make than solid electrode plates. Jupiter water ionizers, like the Orion and Delphi, use this type of electrode plates.

The two brands of water ionizers were tested against each other for quality of ionized water output using a machine from each company with five electrode plates. The pH and ORP tested the same, so in terms of water ionizing ability, there is basically no difference. The difference may lie in the longevity of the electrode plates (the expensive part of the ionizer due to the platinum).

Of course you, the consumer, cannot determine the durability or longevity until time passes. Please remember there is much competition, therefore much hype in the water ionizer world these days as in “new technology” and “more electrode plates” being promoted vigorously. Many “ionizer review” websites have popped up – ultimately they are owned by someone selling ionizers – most likely the one that got the most favorable review. For those of us who know how, it’s no big deal to make a new website!

When comparing water ionizers, take into consideration the type of plates along with all the other features, and, try to cut through the hype and marketing ploys. Read more about shopping for a water ionizer.

The Swine Flu is being reported in worldwide media and everyone is worried. Of course it will get worse before it gets better, and, some say the Swine Flu Epidemic will get very, very much worse.

Am I worried about Swine Flu? Am I worried about any flu? No, I’m not even worried about a cold!

You might wonder why, and I’m going to give you a brief rundown of my “health” regimen. In 1997 (the last time I was sick) I had bronchitis for 3 months. I willingly took every drug the doctors threw at me to try and shake it, but it took 3 months. I swore I’d never get sick again, and I haven’t.

Over the past 12 years I’ve refined my diet to be at least 50% raw (nuts, seeds, lots of veggies, small amount of fruits, sprouted & dehydrated foods). The other 50% consists of lightly steamed veggies, whole grains and the occasional homemade pizza (shh!) and even ice cream once in a while! Oh yeah, and I do drink red wine a couple times a month. That’s the basic diet.

However, there are some other healthy things I ingest daily. First what I don’t ingest is soda, juices, carbonated or bottled waters, processed foods, meats and dairy. These things are acidic, and I’ve studied and learned that acidity allows germs – viruses, bacteria, fungus – to take hold and multiply inside you. They thrive on acidity, and create additional acidity from their waste products! Read My Story, particularly the part about my swollen knee for proof there is not only fungus amongus, but fungus IN us!

This theory of disease, that germs are already in us, but it is the health of your internal system that allows them to take hold, or not, was also supported by Louis Pasteur, the notable 19th century French chemist and microbiologist best known for his remarkable breakthroughs in the causes and prevention of disease. He recanted his famous germ theory of disease (microbes invade us and make us sick, therefore you need pharmaceuticals) on his deathbed. His popular germ theory was officially accepted and became the basis of Western medicine in the late 19th century, and the rest is history. His rival at the time, Dr. Antoine Bechamp, a genius in the field of science, was less well connected to the wealthy and those in politics, so HIS theory is what Pastuer, on his deathbed, admitted was correct, stating, “The microbe is nothing. The terrain is everything.”

It therefore stands to reason that the swine flu virus (or other pathogen) does not CAUSE disease, but rather seeks out an environment where it can thrive best, and that is in oxygen-deprived, acidic bodies. Disease cannot thrive in a well-oxygenated, alkaline environment. Therefore, the best defense against microbes, germs, harmful bacteria and viruses, such as the swine flu virus, is to keep the body alkaline and oxygenated. This enables the body to cure itself of virtually all diseases ranging from influenza to cancer, AIDS, heart disease, asthma, diabetes, arthritis and more.

The philosophy of the alkaline diet (briefly) is that the body must maintain a pH balance of 7.365 in the blood and other cells. In the same way that it has to maintain your body temperature within a certain range – your body will also do whatever it takes to maintain that pH balance. To neutralize acids consumed, our body buffers with alkaline reserves. However, with the modern Western diet this buffer is always very quickly exhausted, and the body has to draw alkaline minerals (magnesium, potassium, sodium and calcium – principally) from wherever it can to keep our blood pH at 7.365. As stated earlier, when we consume too much acid and exhaust our alkaline buffers, our body is constantly being overloaded with acid build-up. Because the blood pH is so sensitive, a slight drop in the blood level, like to 7.2, gives a person the “condition” called Acidosis. Read more in “Your Body & pH articles…

Back to my lifestyle, in addition to being mostly vegan (a bit of cheese & fish a couple times a month), I believe in chlorophyll, good salt, good oils, and most importantly of all, good water.

I’ll address these each briefly:

CHLOROPHYLL: Veggies of course, predominately dark colored, and lots of broccoli. I also take Chlorella & Spirulina every day and you can read more about it here and in the articles on my site. Chlorophyll oxegenates your blood, plus these foods are alkalizing, and disease cannot live in an oxygenated, alkaline environment. Nobel Prize Winner Dr. Otto Warburg, in the 1930s(!), led us to the knowledge that cancer lives in a low oxygen environment like most bacteria. Every time Dr. Warburg lowered the oxygen level by 35% in a healthy cell, it became cancerous. Cancer needs a low oxygen environment to survive, as do other pathogens. Basically 99% of the time, a terminal cancer victims body is a thousand time more acidic than normal. This environment causes a low or no oxygen environment in which cancer and disease thrives.

Good SALT: Our body runs on water and salt, necessary for our electrical pathways. NOT ordinary table salt which is processed and the cause of all the “low-salt” diet hype, but good salt. I use only Himalayan Crystal Salt freely on all my food, and as a “Sole” as well. Although this is not up on my site yet, I sell this salt for $6.50/lb in fine granulated, small pebbles for grinding and larger rocks for making Sole. Do your research, then write me if you’re interested. You’ll find this salt’s mineral content almost exactly matches ours, as does the vibrational frequency of the salt.
I can’t always bring my water ionizer traveling and I will go thirsty rather than drink “unknown” bottled water, chlorinated tap water or known acidic bottled water. I still make high alkaline ionized water on the GO and you can too!

I’ve fought a lifetime of chronic joint problems (see My Story) and now I feel better than ever, since drinking alkaline ionized water. I searched for a way to have ionized water when I’m out – when I can’t bring the actual water ionizer with me and can’t lug too many bottles.

Of course going out for the day I always bring a large bottle – 2 liters or more, depending on how long my day will be. PLAN AHEAD. Although my Bottled Water pH Chart (download for free) is helpful, obviously not every brand of water can be listed – there are scores of locally bottled waters across the country. Plus, I don’t want to pay for lousy water mixed with plastic chemicals!

So, if I can’t bring my ionizer, and I can’t lug bottles of ionized water I use these three essentials: pH Water Test Kit + Biodegradable Filter Bottle + Portable Water Ionizer Sticks

I test the pH of the tap water to be sure it’s at least neutral (7 pH), filter it through the filter bottle, and then ionize it with the ionizing sticks. I am freed from buying bottled water, yet I am drinking better water than you can buy! And, I am not drinking the plastic bottle leaching into my water!

READ THIS: LESS THAN 10% OF WATER BOTTLES get recycled!

I don’t participate in the insanely expensive & offensive trafficking of water – the petroleum cost of making the bottles and the transportation costs of moving heavy bottles. Think gas is expensive? Do the math: $1/bottle = $8/gallon for water. That’s insanity. Keep reading for my Ionized Water TO GO deal!

Whether I’m traveling by plane, enjoying a Caribbean cruise, soaking up the sun at a Dominican Republic resort, touring through Costa Rica or visiting Europe, my protocol is the same:

FIRST: I test the tap water pH, which should be at least 7 or 8 pH. IF, for some reason, I must use bottled water I certainly test that and if it is acidic I wait until I can locate better alkaline water.

SECOND: I fill the filter bottle and gently squeeze it, squirting the water out through the drinking cap into my 1 liter water bottle. This little filter removes the chlorine and dozens of other pollutants!

THIRD: I drop in 2 portable water ionizer sticks (1 per 500ml/16oz., 2 per liter/quart), shake my bottle 10 times, wait at least 30 minutes, and drink!

The longer the ionizer sticks remain in the bottle, the more ionization. I make a liter before going to bed and it’s good and ionized in the morning – often a 10 pH! You’ll know if the water is too ionized, as the water will taste “briny” so just dilute it a bit with filtered water. This rarely happens. Remember that the amount of ionization is always dependent on the mineral content of the source water.

A word about 16 oz versus 1 liter bottles:

It is much easier to keep track of how much water you drink when drinking from a one liter or quart bottle, than lots of smaller bottles or glasses. I prepare my water in a 1 liter/quart bottle, and often drink it from a glass, but it is easy to remember if I’m on quart 3 or 4 by the end of the day, rather than small bottle number 7 or 8. Folks thank me for this bit of advice, as they tend to drink more water with the larger bottle system.

Some folks may laugh or roll their eyes at this whole procedure. Let them laugh – I’m drinking the best water possible on the go, for a fraction of the cost, both economically and eco-consciously, all while protecting my health.

Most times a counter-top water ionizer is installed on the counter next to the sink, but here are a few other suggestions that may be more convenient and more efficient use of kitchen space.

Of course, if you’re lucky enough to have a wide window sill in the sink’s vicinity, this makes a great location – off the counter and still within easy reach. Most ionizers have a small footprint and will sit securely on a 4″-5″ windowsill. I used this option when I lived in Florida.

You might have a pass-through near your sink where you can spare some space. If the ionizer fits crosswise in the opening, the back would face the width of the wall. If not, and the ionizer front faces into the kitchen you might like to put a photo of you and your sweetheart, or even your kids to obscure the back view. Or perhaps a photo of your parents who made you so smart that you got a water ionizer! My mother uses this option.

Many water ionizers come with a wall-mount bracket. These work GREAT and often this installation uses unused space. As an alternative, or if your ionizer didn’t include the wall mount option, a sturdy shelf, securely mounted works too. Be sure to mount either option up high enough NOT to interfere with counter use. I have a wall-mounted ionizer in my kitchen.

Another overlooked option is installing the ionizer in the bathroom (on the counter or wall mounted) or laundry room. When my son lived with roommates, he installed his in his own bathroom, and my brother installed his in the laundry room. It all works!

My daughter and son-in-law set the ionizer on the counter, BEHIND the drain board – they simply moved the drain board a bit closer to the counter edge. This worked well in a tiny apartment kitchen, where they didn’t even have room for the wall option. They recently bought a house in Philadelphia, and have done a “custom” installation, which brings me to the final option:

You may not be aware that without investing in an under counter water ionizer, you can install the ionizer under the sink. This is what my kids did. This is a bit more complicated than above the sink, but it can work. I carry an Under the Counter Conversion Kit (email or call me) that has an above counter double spout – one for alkaline, with the other just underneath it for acid water. There needs to be an extra hole in your countertop or you’ll need to have one professionally drilled. The ionizer gets mounted on the interior side wall of the cabinet below the sink, or on the door if it’s sturdy enough and the hinges are well crafted. Of course you can always have the water ionizer simply sit on the floor of the cabinet.

A plumber is needed to hook the conversion kit up to your cold water line. (HOT WATER should NEVER be run through an ionizer.) There are several hoses to connect, and depending which ionizer you have, you may need some connectors and/or fittings to make it all work properly. A handy person who knows a bit about plumbing may be able to do this without a plumber.

When it’s all hooked up, you choose your alkaline or acid settings from the unit down below, but the waster comes out on top. Choosing the settings from inside the cabinet is the one drawback of a counter top water ionizer installed to be an under counter water ionizer.

Starting at $1,999, you can have a true under counter water ionizer model – the Poseidon Under Counter Water Ionizer, and the second photo is the Delphi Under Counter Ionizer ($2,645). Email me if you’re want more information, as the Poseidon and a third one is not up on the site yet. You can then choose your ionizer settings from the stem of the faucet on top of the sink. I carry three different models and the choice really comes down to aesthetics versus cost.

Anyway you mount it, ionized water is the water of choice – and drink lots of it!!!

Dr. Masaru Emoto has demonstrated that the structure of water can be influenced for the better by a person’s kindness and love! He developed a system to freeze water and then photograph the frozen water crystals. He found that pure, healthy water forms better water crystals than polluted water.

Ultimately, the result of his work shows us that healthier water has a hexagonal structure. This is exactly what the molecular scientists have concluded as well, that the hexagonally structured water is more protective of your health than pentagonal water (Penta Water) or irregular shaped water molecules.

Among the many beneficial attributes of high alkaline ionized water, the water ionizer produces micro-clustered water molecules. Instead of the irregular amount of molecules in a cluster, the ionizer causes many clusters of 6 water molecules, hence, “hexagonal water”. The bond angle of hexagonal water is much more powerful than larger or smaller clumps of water molecules. This strong bond, among other benefits, plays a role in protecting your DNA from free radical damage, and preventing pollutants from entering your cells.

LAST JUNE, 2008:

Oh what a cute German shepherd puppy he was! So full of spunk, so affectionate, so smart. He was growing by leaps and bounds, and within two minutes, I couldn’t even hold him anymore! Then suddenly, without warning, he just stopped eating. At first we didn’t think too much of it, but then he didn’t eat the next morning either. And, he wasn’t drinking any water. Not even the ionized water. He was lethargic, but yet seemed alert. He was hiding under the porch.

Justin and I didn’t have much experience with sick dogs so I anxiously took him to the vet, almost an hour away from our rural farm. She thought it might be worms, and gave me some worm medication. I gave Rocky 2 of the 3 de-worm dosages, and then he disappeared. Here on our farm there are no fences, and Rocky’s a mostly outdoors dog. We figured he ran away to die and we were heartbroken to think of losing Rocky, who was only 9 months old at this point. We went out looking for him in the four-wheeler, calling him, telling him I had “yummies” for him, to no avail.

The next morning, like a miracle, he appeared outside our door, happy to see us, but obviously still very sick. We quickly leashed him (which he hates) and kept him close to us at all times, which meant having to “walk” him to “do his business”. That’s when I saw bloody, stinky, very, very watery diarrhea. I researched everything I could on the internet for hours.

Back at the vet he was tested for everything, x-rayed and they gave him one liter of intravenous fluid, antibiotic, meds for gas (his intestines were distended – this is all that showed up on the x-ray). The vet thought it might be something viral as the ONLY thing of any big significance in all the tests was a low white blood cell count. The vet gave me the number for an all night clinic an hour and a half from our house, where they could hook him up to IVs and monitor him, albeit in a cage, and I wouldn’t be able to stay there! I certainly didn’t want this option! But she was openly puzzled and sympathetic.

Rocky seemed a bit better the next morning, drinking small amounts of our special ionized water on his own. We thought he had turned the corner. Then he vomited again and we were back where we started from.

Madly doing research, his symptoms seemed indicative of Parvo, but his tests were negative! Parvo most times is a death sentence, so we were quite scared. I continued with as much ionized water and Himalayan crystal salt as he would allow, mixed with a great product called “Ease the Quease” which is an herbal anti-nausea formulation of ginger root, anise seed, spearmint, ginger & peppermint oil. I used a small pointy squeeze bottle to give him this mixture, milliliter by milliliter as marked on the bottle, holding his mouth closed till he’d swallow. I sat with his head in my lap for hours, singing a chanting sort of song, in a slow easy voice, and it seemed to soothe him. Online I had been talking with a holistic vet, who happened to be passing by our town. She stopped in and gave Rocky another IV of liquids and taught Justin how to inject him for the next time.

In desperation I tried singing and clog-tap dancing for him, and you could tell he was amused, but I couldn’t coax him off the rebounder (the mini-trampoline) that’s been “his spot” since he was a tiny baby.

He was losing weight dramatically. He went from about 90 to 68. That’s when we realized we could use the Rife Machine on him! The Rife Machine was invented in the 1930s by Dr. Royal Raymond Rife. Using the fact that diseased cells have a different frequency than healthy cells, he correlated the machine with many disease frequencies, and much the same way an opera singer can shatter a glass, this machine can shatter the diseased cell walls. It can also restore healthy frequency pathways.

I shaved Rocky’s forearms and held the stainless steel cylinders against his skin, while the vibrations of many different frequencies coursed through his system. He must’ve known this was helping him, because he lay with me, while I sang and held the cylinders on him, for hours on end.

The next morning, he drank water on his own! He walked around a bit! He had turned a corner for sure! I boiled chicken and brown rice in ionized water, strained the liquid and although he didn’t want to eat, I squirted it through the little bottle, and he kept it down!! His recovery continued from that point forward, and both the vet and the holistic vet agreed I saved his life with my singing, water, salt and the Rife treatments. The entire episode was about a week and a half of playing Florence Nightingale to a puppy! He went from a low of 68 lbs at the vet’s office back up to 90 lbs in a matter of a few weeks. Now he’s well over 100, and our breeder says he’s the biggest shepherd he’s ever bred! That’s our baby!

Now, I’m happy to say Rocky (I call him “my little poodle”) is fully recovered and a thriving 17 month old puppy, good as gold, and smart as can be! Here’s a photo of my TWO honey’s, Rocky and Justin.

UPDATE: Sept. 6, 2009. Rocky will be two in a few weeks, and he’s delicious! We are sad to say we are looking for a new home, as our circumstances have changed and we can’t give him the attention and care he needs. Go to this page, Rocky the Gentle Giant German Shepherd to read about him, see photos, and please help us find a new, ideal home for him!

The Rife machine also improves communication along the nerve pathways, clearing possible blockages, tuning the body’s frequency. However, this is all, in my opinion, damage control, which is fine to improve wellness in a short time. If we understand the benefits of an alkaline, oxygenated internal environment, one that will not support disease and pathogens, then it follows that we also understand that we must strengthen our inner terrain with a less acidic, alkaline diet and lifestyle. Bathing your cells with ionized water and following a mostly alkaline diet will do much to avoid illness in the long term.

So I feel the Rife machine is absolutely wonderful for a “quick fix” and that can easily be sustained by repeated use, but the problems may return, and maybe other problems will surface as well if your internal environment remains acidic. I highly recommend the this Rife Machine AND an alkaline regimen.

My Honey, Justin Wizard, sells the Rife Machine on his website and you can read about how it obliterated his terminal colon cancer!

At a very, very low point in my history of relationships, I swore now to remain single and celibate for a long, long time, no longer trusting my judgment. But we know that’s not always the way fate would have it, and the most marvelous man in the world, a dream come true, found me. I now live with Justin in beautiful West Virginia. Although it’s quite a bit colder than my former home in Florida

I had moved to Florida, from New York, to be in the warm sunshine year-round, and I didn’t think ANYTHING or ANYONE could ever get me north again. This is a testament to just how wonderful Justin is, and the amazing love we’ve found. If you’d like to see what Justin’s into and read a bit about him, here’s his site: www.aceguru.com.

We work on being self-sufficient and sustainable, making a very small footprint on the 166 acres we live on. Although we do use some non-solar electricity, we have the ability to run just about everything on solar when the electric goes out. We also have a very, very low water usage, even though we both drink lots of ionized water! We have the ability to use well-water OR rain water we collect in huge barrels at any of our faucets, and we have point-of-use tankless hot water heaters in each location. We also use composting toilets for our poop, and we disperse our pee outside for the good nitrogen, and, around the garden – it keeps the deer away! (Write if you want to know more about any of this.)

We grow lots of vegetables, from tomatoes to potatoes, and even free-range organic chickens (although I’m a vegetarian, Justin and Rocky aren’t). We have delicious heirloom tomatoes all winter long in the greenhouse, along with figs and even goji berries, accompanied by hibiscus, passion vines and geraniums in bloom! We’ve even started growing dwarf banana trees in the greenhouse. In the summer we have gooseberries, blueberries, aronia berries, raspberries, blackberries, elderberries and strawberries grown in upright cylinders to get more berries per square foot. We have an almond tree, peach, pear and apple trees, and flowers galore! Over 150 different kinds of iris’ bloom amongst daffodils, tulips, lilies, hollyhocks, dahlias, foxgloves, clematis, and literally, countless others. Here’s a photo of us with the first crop of winter tomatoes from our greenhouse!

Knowing how much I always wanted a meadow of wildflowers (that’s Rocky in the meadow below), Justin created one for me. That’s what we have the most of on our farm – love. We both had to wait until our mid-fifties to find the love of our life, and, I have to say now, it was worth going through all I’ve been through, since Justin was my pot of gold at the end of the rainbow, after all the stormy weather. The only thing we ever argue about is who got the better end of the deal!

Women who have had a sonogram during pregnancy will really appreciate this. In 1980, pregnant with my first child, the protocol before the sonogram was to drink a quart of water to get better pictures. OK. I am a tiny person (5 feet, 95 lbs.) so maybe it was that, but after I finally drank all that water, I thought for sure I was either going to burst or lose my urine any moment. I will never forget the urgency I felt in contrast to the excitement of seeing the baby on the screen. I just couldn’t wait for it to be over so I could go pee.

This is what I thought about when first attempting to drink a few quarts of water a day. In addition, before switching to alkaline water, when I drank a glass of water, I went to pee. There always was an “urgency” so I couldn’t imagine drinking my weight in ounces. What the reality was turned out very different.

After drinking a quantity of high alkaline ionized water, I found I could hold my urine – and a lot of it – with much, much less discomfort. At 54, still 5 feet, 95 lbs., I can drink a quart of water, and successfully hold it until I reach a bathroom! The feeling of urgency is just not the same.

I thought maybe I was imagining all this, and “willing” it to be this way, but then after my mother was drinking the ionized water for a month or so, she reported to me, “Tina, it doesn’t burn when I urinate anymore!” Sorry to be so graphic, but lots of folks wonder about all this and ask at the trade shows and on the phone. Of course it’s not supposed to burn when you urinate, and it got me thinking – the urine, when acidic, probably irritates the bladder somewhat and causes that desperate feeling of urgency. Mom’s urine was now more alkaline and she no longer had the same urgency either. Plus, of course, drinking more water, logically, dilutes the “stuff” in the urine. (That’s Mom at her 80th with me, Tina Rappaport in the photo!)

Either way, drinking more water, and especially if its alkaline ionized water, will actually allow you to hold more water! (But, please, don’t hold your water for me – pee as often as you want!)
