Love Lemons! My Lemon Limerick & Latest Luxury!

Lemon juice in water – sliced lemons in water – iced herbal tea with lemon – or warm water first thing in the morning with lemon? ALL good! Very alkalizing – fights Acidosis! Keep reading for my LEMON LIMERICK and my latest little-known lemon luxury!

According to  TheAlternativeDaily.com:

“The health promoting benefits of lemons are powerful. For centuries, it has been known that lemons contain powerful antibacterial, antiviral and immune boosting components. We know that lemons are a great digestive aid and liver cleanser.  Lemons contain citric acid, magnesium, bioflavonoids, vitamin C, pectin, calcium and limonene, which supercharge our immunity so that the body can fight infection.

Lemons are considered one of the most alkalizing foods you can eat. This may seem untrue as they are acidic on their own. However, in the body, lemons are alkaline; the citric acid does not create acidity once it has been metabolized. The minerals in lemons are actually what helps to alkalize the blood.  Most people are too acidic (from eating too much sugar, grains, animal products), and drinking warm lemon water helps reduce overall acidity, drawing uric acid from the joints. This reduces the pain and inflammation which many people feel. And the American Cancer Society recommends warm lemon water to encourage regular bowel movements.”

Benefits that you can enjoy from eating lemons:

1. Improves your digestion:

Lemon juice helps your body improve digestion and stimulates bile production. Lemon juice can even be an aid for heartburn and indigestion.

2. Boosts your energy for the day:

Even just the scent of lemon juice has been shown to improve your mood and energy levels, and reduce anxiety.  Plus the detoxifying effect and alkalizing effect of fresh organic lemon juice can improve your energy through the removal of toxins from your body.

3. Helps you to lose fat:

Since lemon juice helps to improve your digestive system, aids in removal of toxins, and increases your energy levels, this all combines together to help you to lose body fat as well through improving your hormonal balance… Yet another reason to add warm lemon water to your daily morning routine!

This is from me –

I’ve been “zesting” lemons for quite some time now (I use organic lemons). Before squeezing them to get out the lemon juice I’d use a fine grater and zest off the yellow for the potently healthy limonene in the skin. All good. Heard about freezing the whole lemon then grating it to use the pith (white pulp) and the seeds, as there’s B17 (laetrile) in them thar seeds (just like the familiar Grapefruit Seed Extract that is a natural anti-biotic/viral/fungal/parasite). I liked that idea – so I froze two lemons. Two months later, there they were, in my freezer untouched. Hmmmm…..

In the hundreds of things I read each week, somewhere I came across the concept of pureed lemon. Yup, the whole thing. Peel, pith, pits and pulp! Loved the idea, mostly because it’s easy and no waste! Washed the lemons, trimmed off the little ends, cut in a few pieces, pureed in my Blendtec high-speed blender (like the Vitamix but less expensive). I may have added a bit of high-alkaline ionized water to get it started – I really can’t remember. Pureed them all!! Poured the puree into a couple of widemouth jars and set them in the fridge.

The pectin in the pith is particularly beneficial not just for digestion but to absorb toxins in your digestive tract and colon – this is always a good thing, whether or not you’re plagued with problems. I like a good thing when I see it…

Well, well, well… next day I was thrilled and delighted (I’m pretty easy to please)! The lemon puree was fairly solidified, like a jelly is solidified – because, of course, from the pectin!!! So, basically, I made a pectin that could subsequently be blended with other fruits to make a jam! I promptly defrosted some fresh local ripe mango and pureed it with some solidified lemon pectin to try this out, and poured THAT into a few small jars! Mmmmm – not bad at all!! A bit of a bitter edge from the bitter pith and seeds, but I’m pretty hardcore when it comes to health (some of you know that about me already) and I don’t mind it – you could sweeten it more with honey if you like.

So, back to lemon in the morning – I’ve been making a morning green drink – either with fresh veggies and green powders or just green powders – and adding a good tablespoon of this lemon pectin – for me, the green drinks are plenty sweet to counter the bitter pith and seeds and the strong taste of lemon is delicious!

So I wrote a Lemon Limerick for you!

There were 8 lemons with zest –
I washed and cut up to ingest –
Set the blender on fine,
Pureed to a grind,
Lemon pectin drinks are the best!

Enjoy your lemons!

Natural Products Show – Expo West was inspiring!

I recently returned from Expo West in Anaheim, CA with 1,900 exhibitors and over 53,000 attendees!I used to exhibit water ionizersat this show, and let me tell you, it’s very exciting! All the latest and cutting edge products are there and often the manufacturer or originator is on hand to speak with. Aside from having a great time reconnecting with old friends, meeting newer friends face-to-face for the first time, I also made some new friends!

An old friend of mine, and maybe yours if I introduced you in the past, is Smooth Move Tea! This laxative tea is in my traveling bag of tricks just in case I get a bit slowed down, which sometimes happens when traveling – rarely, but it does happen. So I just make a cup of this tea in the evening, and next morning, voila!
I really do keep a few Smooth Move tea bags in my toiletries bag for me and anyone else I might be traveling with. Here’s a photo of me with the Smooth Move movin’ outhouse!! It would be perfect if we had a few of these vehicles for use around the farm, like porta-potties!

Patricia Bragg & Tina
I also met Patricia Bragg from Bragg Apple Cider Vinegar and Aminos. She was so gracious and gave me several signed books.
Another interesting lady I met was 79 year old Japanese Linda who has an organic farm growing Ashitaba, an unusual and potent Japanese herb. It seems to be extremely high quality, and this herb is used throughout Japan. It is a very powerful antioxidant, twice that of green tea. It provides energy without caffeine and is sold in juice bars at major Japanese subway stations 24/7. It also relieves pain, aids in weight loss, increases mental clarity, and is cited in many testimonials for “helping” cancer (we have to be careful about what we say because of the FDA). I just got some in stock if you are interested. I carry the powder and the tincture that can be ingested or applied to skin eruptions.

I reconnected with my old friend, Bill from Yi-Shan water ionizer manufacturing company.
Ohbeeb from NYC
I saw my friend Ohbeeb from NYC. She sells the greatest raw chocolate-spirulina bars, Wild Bar!
