Avocado Trick

Maybe you don’t buy avocados as often as you’d like to because you use half and the other half turns brown and rots practically overnight? You wouldn’t be the only one! I eat lots of avocados, so I started thinking – if we mix in lime or lemon juice when we make Guacamole and that helps the guac to not turn brown, then maybe it would work for the cut side of the avocado?

Then I realized it was probably the acid in the citrus juice, and maybe tomatoes would work? Well, hell yeah tomato works! I take the cut side of a tomato (almost always used in conjunction with avocados) and rub the juice on the exposed avocado. The surface turns brown, but it seems that it stops right there!!

If this isn’t enough to get you to eat avocado everyday (1/4 to 1/2), here’s some more tidbits:

  • Avocados are almost as good as blueberries for brain health!
  • Avocado fat is mono-unsaturated fat – good for healthy blood flow, so the fat is good for the brain too!

As you continually modify your diet, try to incorporate as much of these foods as possible to detox heavy metals, chemicals and pharmaceuticals. The Best Foods For Detox:

So you have made the decision to go through a detoxification process. The elimination of fast foods, red meats, pork, junk foods, sugary drinks – but wait. What’s left to eat? There is plenty left to eat, and once you get the junk out of your system and start eating right during your detox, chances are you probably will not want to go back to you old habits. You will find that once you start your detox, there are lots of healthy and nutritious detox foods to eat. These foods will help you in the process of the detoxification of your system.

To begin you will want to keep yourself well hydrated (I vote for ionized water!). You will want to drink lots of water and juices . Try to discipline yourself to stay away from sugary, and caffeinated drinks as much as possible. There are a variety of juices to choose from including fresh fruits, and vegetable juices that you can make at home (easy on the fruit juices – they ultimately are sugar). Herbal tea is also a great source in assisting the detox process.

To take advantage and maximize the time and discipline dedicated to your detox, and to achieve maximum results, you will want to have a diet rich in fresh fruits and vegetables. Suggestions for rich detox foods are: limes, lemons, flaxseed oil, brussels sprouts, kale, avocado oil, broccoli sprouts, blue-green algae, olive oil, coconut oil, hemp oil, alfalfa sprouts, arugula, garlic, spinach, chlorella, spirulina, onions, cabbage, celery, turmeric, chard, wheatgrass, and, ionized water!

Beans are an important detox food and a major source of protein and are a great source of fiber. Suggestions for your detox are kidney beans, pinto beans, garbanzo and soybeans. It is very difficult to go wrong with legumes, so pad your new diet with this source.

When considering your detox foods, instead of eating white rice and pasta, substitute these products with brown basmati rice, or other brown grains. And try focusing on enjoying lighter, smaller meals. Vegetable based soups and salads are light, but can be filling as a meal.

Experiment with dishes and try eating a fresh vegetable platter with no meat. Look at the colors on your plate from now on. The more colors on your plate in terms of your fruits and vegetables, the healthier you are generally eating. If you find yourself craving grains, trying a dish of brown basmati rice with fresh green beans, and cream of mushroom soup, combined into a casserole. As a side dish, slice up a fresh tomato and garnish with a small amount of olive oil and vinegar. Once you complete detoxing you are going to find that you don’t miss meat as much as you thought you would. You will begin to feel lighter in your center, and have much more energy that tends to accompany this feeling.

An area that is tough for most people once they start the cleansing procedure is in the area of snack foods. Instead of snacking on chips, candy and cookies, try to snack on nuts and seeds as a healthier source. Suggestions include sunflower seeds, flaxseeds, pumpkin seeds, almonds, cashews, and walnuts. (Hey, don’t forget cut up veggies sprinkled with Himalayan Crystal Salt!)

Try to avoid fried foods during this detox period. Get in the habit of eating lots of baked fish, preferably organic. Chose healthy oils like Coconut oil, lose the bad oils (most that are in the supermarket).

When you choose to eat fresh greens such as salads, avoid salad dressings and try using olive oil and a small amount of apple cider vinegar (try alkalizing lemon juice in place of vinegar). Minimize adding salt to all of your foods. (Say NO to common table salt, but YES to Himalayan Crystal Salt)

Avoid processed cakes and cookies and other such flour-based products during your detox.

Most importantly before you start a detox process consult your physician. Plan your detox so that it is done at a convenient time. You don’t want to shock your body, so begin to make gradual changes once you have made up your mind that it is time to “clean house.” And by all means, ensure that you are properly hydrated during the process.

I’ve been “zesting” lemons for quite some time now (I use organic lemons). Before squeezing them to get out the lemon juice I’d use a fine grater and zest off the yellow for the potently healthy limonene in the skin. All good. Heard about freezing the whole lemon then grating it to use the pith (white pulp) and the seeds, as there’s B17 (laetrile) in them thar seeds (just like the familiar Grapefruit Seed Extract that is a natural anti-biotic/viral/fungal/parasite). I liked that idea – so I froze two lemons. Two months later, there they were, in my freezer untouched. Hmmmm…..

In the hundreds of things I read each week, somewhere I came across the concept of pureed lemon. Yup, the whole thing. Peel, pith, pits and pulp! Loved the idea, mostly because it’s easy and no waste! Washed the lemons, trimmed off the little ends, cut in a few pieces, pureed in my Blendtec high-speed blender (like the Vitamix but less expensive). I may have added a bit of high-alkaline ionized water to get it started – I really can’t remember. Pureed them all!! Poured the puree into a couple of widemouth jars and set them in the fridge.

The pectin in the pith is particularly beneficial not just for digestion but to absorb toxins in your digestive tract and colon – this is always a good thing, whether or not you’re plagued with problems. I like a good thing when I see it…

Well, well, well… next day I was thrilled and delighted (I’m pretty easy to please)! The lemon puree was fairly solidified, like a jelly is solidified – because, of course, from the pectin!!! So, basically, I made a pectin that could subsequently be blended with other fruits to make a jam! I promptly defrosted some fresh local ripe mango and pureed it with some solidified lemon pectin to try this out, and poured THAT into a few small jars! Mmmmm – not bad at all!! A bit of a bitter edge from the bitter pith and seeds, but I’m pretty hardcore when it comes to health (some of you know that about me already) and I don’t mind it – you could sweeten it more with honey if you like.

So, back to lemon in the morning – I’ve been making a morning green drink – either with fresh veggies and green powders or just green powders – and adding a good tablespoon of this lemon pectin – for me, the green drinks are plenty sweet to counter the bitter pith and seeds and the strong taste of lemon is delicious!

So I wrote a Lemon Limerick for you!

There were 8 lemons with zest –
I washed and cut up to ingest –
Set the blender on fine,
Pureed to a grind,
Lemon pectin drinks are the best!

Heart Attacks Happen – Be Informed & Be Ready

My mother passed away, calmly, on July 4th, 2009 about 6 PM, at 81 years young. My mother did aerobics, yoga and weight lifting 5 days a week, played Mah Jong 2 nights, ate fairly healthy and packed up a suitcase and 4 gallons of ionized water and went to spend the weekend with her boyfriend  30 minutes away, on the beach in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. My mother lived a very full life. She was calm, as she had accepted that her death was her own fault. It was, and still is, a tragedy.

Mom ate pretty well, drank 2-3 quarts of ionized water a day, along with her coffee and daily glass of red wine, and, with all her exercise, she was “in pretty good shape for an “ol’ lady” she used to say! Mom also swallowed LOTS of vitamins with breakfast, lunch and dinner. She took Chlorella & Spirulina tablets and, although she didn’t care for “green drinks” she did take the powder in capsule form.

All this, and my mother was on NO medication other than something for osteoporosis and some homeopathic formula for pain in her slightly osteo-arthritic ankle. She did have a lung condition “Pulmonary Fibrosis”, which generally means death within 5 years after diagnosis, as the medical community can do nothing to halt this disease.

Mom seemed to have the Pulmonary Fibrosis beat once she was on the ionized water – she amazed the lung doctors and defied the medical books! In her mid to late 70s, although her older brother and younger sister had already died from this disease, mom halted the progress AND THEN  increased her lung capacity by 16 ounces! The doctors told us that this is UNHEARD of in a woman her age – not only halting the disease but increasing lung capacity by that much! The only thing different she had been doing was drinking the high-alkaline ionized water (your lungs are mostly water). Although she still had Pulmonary Fibrosis, her coughing and mucus production was greatly reduced, her x-rays showed the disease was not progressing, and, the doctors were astounded. I had taken her to a highly esteemed lung specialist at the University of Miami Hospital (Dr. Marilyn Glassberg), who was interested in doing a study with the ionized water in her clinic but was so busy with patients, she never had the time.

Mom’s blood pressure was great, cholesterol was great, eyes (20/20!), heart, blood – she kept up with all the periodic tests.

So what went wrong? Two things. First, somehow, there was an undetected build-up of plaque in ONE artery (the rest were perfectly clear), and second, when Mom felt gastric discomfort sometime late at night, she shrugged it off – until she realized she was in trouble and drove HERSELF to the hospital 6:50 in the morning. Women often have vague heart attack symptoms, not the well-known pain down the left arm.

Mom waited too long! She had heart attack information in three different places in her Florida condo describing the symptoms, instructions NOT to drive yourself, and, don’t wait. If you get to the hospital within 3 hours of symptoms starting, you have a much better chance. This was a fatal error for my mother.

They put a stent in, opened the artery and said she’d be in ICU for 2 days and probably have more energy than before! (We could hardly keep up with her as it was!) But then they realized how long she had waited – five hours? Six? Seven? More? The one artery that had plaque was 100% closed, while the rest were absolutely clear – they don’t usually see this – there is usually at least one other artery compromised. Despite the severity of the heart attack and having waited too long, they thought she still had a chance to recover, since she was in such great shape.

Unfortunately, although Mom’s organs and systems slowly came back, over the 12 days she spent in cardiac ICU her lungs could not recover from the damage due to the heart attack and therefore the lungs would not transmit the oxygen to her blood. The lung specialists all assured me this was from damage due to the heart attack, and had nothing to do with the Pulmonary Fibrosis! After 12 long days, and in good spirits, the doctor told us there was nothing more to do and the end would come soon. Mom knew she had waited too long and actually did this to herself, saying with her cute expression, “What was, was.” She was ready to go home to die. Yes, a nightmare and very surreal.

She also said, “It was fun while it lasted!” and I implore you, you who are reading this, to remember some of what my mother believed – life is for the living, so have fun, despite the curves life might throw at you. And, “Laugh. It doesn’t do any good to cry.”

Himalayan Crystal Salt Solé (so-lay)

urparamount-sole1Salt is as essential as water. We could not survive without water or salt. All the properties of salt that relate to our body are closely connected to water, because the crucial properties of salt, biochemically as well as biophysically, only exist in combination with water, and remember, we are mostly water – 70%!

This is very special salt.  This pink Himalayan Crystal Salt is hand-mined 5,000 feet under the earth from deposits of salt that are 250 million years old. The salt was crystallized over the millennia due to the immense pressure.  This crystallization captured the energy needed to dehydrate the primordial sea and it is this measurable energy that is released from the salt when it is dissolved in water.  The same way we know there is energy inherent in Quartz Crystals, there is energy in this pressurized crystal salt.  This energy frequency matches the frequency in our healthy body, so it helps to “re-tune” and energize if the frequency is deficient.

The mixture of water and crystal salt, called “Solé” (so-lay) is the most flexible physical representation of pure solar and light energy. The word solé, is derived from the Latin word “sol”, which means sun. Solé is nothing but the fluid materialization of sunlight. Solé means fluid sunlight or fluid light energy. In water, the salt crystals release 84 minerals which are in almost the exact ratio  as the 84 minerals in our bodies since we supposedly came from this ancient primordial sea.  The minerals are also in their ionized form, which is the form our bodies recognize and can use, much as the ionized minerals in foods and ionized water.  In addition, this salt is qualitatively different than other sea salt, even pink sea salt, which is gathered at or near the earth’s surface and is not “crystalline” in structure. While these salts do have extraordinary mineral content, it does not always match our bodies’ profile, nor are these minerals in ionized form which means they are too coarse for absorption.

To make and use Solé , you put the Himalayan Crystal Salt “rocks”  in a small glass jar or cup  and cover it with good quality water* (see note at end). If the rock does not totally dissolve, then you have the 26% solé solution, meaning the water cannot hold any more salt.  This solé is anti-bacterial, so you do not need to keep it in the refrigerator, and it will not go bad.  Use one teaspoon (not a metal spoon – use wood, porcelain or glass) first thing in the morning followed by at least 16 ounces of water to jump-start your day and “tune” your frequency.  This solé, salt water brine, is unquestionably the energy matrix in which life begins, develops and subsists. Remember, our blood, sweat, tears and lymph are all salty!

As you use up the water, simply re-fill your jar and the rock will give up more of its salt to the solution.  Replace the rock when all that’s left are pinkish specs, which are minerals that are too coarse to be of use.  BEWARE there are many brands of “pink salt” being sold as Himalayan Crystal Salt, but not all are – some are just “pink” salt from other places, some are actually “rock salt” from near the surface or from inferior mines. The salt we sell is certified to be the exact salt that has been extensively researched and documented to contain these life giving properties.

The human body needs only as little as .2g of salt per day. Rather, we tend to use too much salt than too little. As opposed to refined table salt, you can use Himalayan crystal salt more freely because of its holistic properties which make it easy for the body to assimilate. With the recommended one teaspoon of Himalayan crystal salt solé every morning, you are not only receiving the biophysical aspect of the salt, which is the frequency pattern of the crystal salt, but also the biochemical aspect of the salt, containing sufficient minerals and trace elements. The body will hold the frequency pattern of the crystal salt solé for 24 hours. Therefore, we only take the solé once per day on an empty stomach. Plus, the solé can neutralize your body’s acid alkaline balance, normalize blood pressure and dissolve toxins. Patients on Dialysis, or with high blood pressure, should generally use very little salt and follow the advice of their doctor.

People actually go down into these mines for the benefits of absorbing the unique energy, and ailments are cured.  Different grinds of salt are available:  rock crystals, pebbles or fine table salt, as well as bath crystals and salt inhalers for lung issues.

*The best water to use for Solé is high pH ionized water (from a water ionizer), next best would be filtered tap water, then good quality bottled water such as Fiji, Zephyrhills, Whole Foods 365, Deer Park or supermarket “Spring” water.  Do NOT use Dannon Spring water, Poland Springs, Smart Water, Vitamin Water, Dasani or Aquafina – these are acidic waters and detrimental to your health.

Good salt has been found to help the electrical frequencies open up when using a Rife machine, as the frequency generator, also known as a Rife machine, matches the frequencies of diseased cells and pathogens to cause them to implode and has many built-in frequencies that help open your body’s electrical meridians.
