Valley Fever, Amoebic Meningoencephalitis, fungus, pneumonia, fever

WOW, just learned about these two infections that thrive in the hot, dry weather of a warming planet! Valley Fever, the more common of the two, is caused by breathing a fungus in dusty air – found in the dry soil areas of places like Arizona, New Mexico, California and Texas. More than 20,000 cases are reported each year, about 160 fatal!! Experts think the numbers could be way higher than reported.

Two-thirds have no symptoms, the rest? A persistent cough and fever – some develop pneumonia. In 1 of 100, the fungus spreads to the bones, skin or brain, resulting in chronic pain, seizure, coma and death. Anti-fungal drugs can help, but they say there is no cure!

Amoebic Meningoencephalitis is caused by an amoeba thriving in warm freshwater. When a swimmer gets water up the nose, the amoebas travel up the olfactory nerve to the brain, where they eat up the gray matter. Much more rare than Valley Fever, it is almost always fatal. This disease used to be found only in the south eastern states, it’s now been documented in Virginia, Kansas and Minnesota. Most infections start in the summer when people are swimming in polluted lakes.

Why am I writing about this? Your pH balance, a robust immune system, efficient digestion, optimal water intake and of course a “clean” diet (low on additives, pesticides and “food-like” products) are all essential to stay well, avoid chronic diseases some consider “part of aging” (ha), and to survive an infiltration of fungus, amoebas, bacterias, viruses, doctors and pharmaceutical drugs.

I use an arsenal of natural fighters several times a day when a cold, virus, flu or other “bug” raises its ugly head around me. Sometimes nothing develops, sometimes I feel a bit of something and then it goes away – rarely do I succumb! After a cruise in the fall of 2010 I had a bout, and before that the last real bout was fall 1997. I must be doing something right.

What do I do? At the first tickle in my throat, I double up with:

  • Echinacea – tea and tincture
  • My Own Tina’s Terrific Tea (Rosehips, Hibiscus, Hops, White Peony, Green & Red Rooibos, Elderberries and more)
  • My Own Tina’s Tonic Tea (Pao D’arco, Sarsaparilla, Hops, Peony Root, Ginger, Cinnamon and more)
  • Elderberry Extract
  • Vitamin C, 1,000 mg every couple of hours
  • Alkaline Mineral supplement
  • Probiotics (if I’ve been slacking)
  • FIR Sauna (Far Infrared)
  • Chi Machine

And these anti- everythings (anti-viral, bacteria, fungal, parasite)

  • 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide breathed in with a nebulizer
  • Grapefruit Seed Extract, and lots of it!
  • Ashitaba Extract
  • Oregano Extract
  • Colloidal Silver

Don’t forget lots and lots of ionized water, and, the magic of the Rife 101 Energy System for colds, flu, infections and more.

Yeah it takes work, it takes time, it takes pre-thought to have all this stuff on hand, but I’d rather do that than make a phone call to see a doctor to get a prescription to go to a pharmacy, wait, and get meds! (Unless, of course, you need an antibiotic for an infection.)

Let me know if you want to know more – about my teas or protocol. Happy to help!

Hydrogen Peroxide H2O2 – Best Mouthwash with NO CRAP in it!

I’ve been using this mouthwash for years. If your gums are bleeding, inflamed or infected (gingivitis?), if you’re prone to cavities, if your teeth hurt, or if you have a sore in your mouth or even a sore throat – this mouthwash is the best. I’ve even had an oral surgeon verify that the 3% solution of FOOD GRADE Hydrogen Peroxide is better than any prescription mouthwash she could prescribe!!

There’s many other uses for 3% Food Grade H2O2 (spraying when growing sprouts in your kitchen is one), but we’ll stick to the teeth, gums and throat here.

First, how to make it: Buy 35% FOOD GRADE Hydrogen Peroxide – this is NOT what is sold in the pharmacy or drug store. I buy it online from Guardian of Eden. It is a HAZMAT material in this 35% solution, so read everything on their site about handling and storing it. For the 3% mouthwash solution, carefully mix 16 ounces of distilled water with 1 ounce of 35% H2O2. (Some “recipes” use 11 ounces of distilled water with 1 ounce of 35% – this is a bit stronger for tough jobs!)

Second, how to use it: Keep a jar of the boldly labeled 3% diluted solution in a dark place – either the medicine cabinet or under the sink. After brushing your teeth and flossing, use a mouthful, swish it around all over your mouth (gargle if using it for your throat), and swish and swish for as long as you can. It will foam up a bit, and this is good – it bubbles out debris and bacteria from between your teeth and under your gums. Spit it out and DO NOT RINSE YOUR MOUTH or eat or drink anything for 20 minutes so the residue can keep working.

PLEASE – if you have children in your house, or even visiting occasionally, either keep out of reach or in locked cabinets AND always use those skull and crossbones poison stickers!

Follow all the directions as to how to handle and how to store the potent 35% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide. I keep one gallon in the back of a cool cabinet, boldly labeled, and I off-load about 16 ounces into a quart container I keep in the fridge (clearly marked of course). I leave the top just a bit loose. I also use rubber gloves when handling the 35% solution, and, I’m VERY careful – like a mad scientist in a lab!

Irv Marks, my dad, Of Blessed Memory (2/22/27-5/10/98)

NOTE about buying – I have seen the diluted 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide selling in health food stores and/or online for about $10 per quart. That’s all mixed up for you already, but way more expensive than if you make it yourself from the 35% solution. It’s a great alternative if you have shaky hands or are squeamish about the super-concentrated 35% that can chemically burn your skin and is sold as a HAZMAT material.

This H2O2 mouthwash is so good I make it up for my friends and family and they all love it. No they don’t. They LOVE me – they LIKE the mouthwash. A lot! Hahahahaha – we LOVE people, we LIKE things – famous concept passed down from my dad!
